When I was 17....

A dear but crazy friend of mine recently got an old roll of film developed. We aren't sure exactly of when the photos were taken, maybe when I was 17 or 18. I don't remember the day or anything, except we are at White Spot, probably hungover and afraid of our existence in this cold cruel world. It's weird to see photos of times you don't remember, not even remembering that there were photos taken. It's also weird to compare yourself to recent photographs. You can't help but think, Gee, back then I had no clue what to do with myself, did I? The evolution is clear. Unless I still don't know what to do with myself. Then I guess it's not so clear.

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadians out there. Once again, I am alone on Thanksgiving with no turkey to speak of. It's all right though. Usually we just order KFC cuz we are a bunch of lazy bastards. Turkey is for Xmas. Plus, my parents are immigrants from Norway and Finland and Thanksgiving just isn't very important to us. What are we giving thanks for again? I can understand the American Thanksgiving because of the landing at Plymouth Rock and all that. But our Thanksgiving doesnt even fall on the same date every year. What's up with that?

Maybe it's just another excuse to drink?

Yeah, I think its just because American's have Thanksgiving so we have to as well.

Still, I'm more than grateful for the long weekend.

Canadian Thanksgiving is a celebration of the end of harvest. The whole point is to drink too much, eat lots of good food and be happy.

I got to spend my Thanksgiving packing, working, and moving stuff.

But, yesterday I went and spent the day with my dad's side of the family...this year there were only 20 of us for dinner. 20 people, an 18 pound bird, 15 potatoes and countless bottle of booze. Aah, I love my family!

Hope you had a great one!
