Inspired By: Nine Inch Nails

Photobucket

I first got into NIN when I was 15 and I haven't stopped loving them since. NIN is iconic and unmistakable. Trent Reznor, the genius behind The Fragile and Pretty Hate Machine, is unstopable and unfallable. NIN isn't your mother's music and it's probably not your music either but when this emotive shitmix of rock and electronica speaks to you, it YELLS.

Whether you love it or hate it, there is no denying Nine Inch Nail's mark on the modern music scene - heck, even Johnny Cash covered NIN's "Hurt." If you are into hard electronic or heavy rock (not metal though, there is a major difference) and have't given NIN a fair chance, do so. There is a method behind Reznor's madness and one that I love to death.

Speaking of death, NIN has a bad rap for being a Goth Girl's "go to" music and this simply isn't the case. Yes, it is heavy and often dark and yes I am dressing with both those elements in mind. But it is also undeniably romantic and flowing, something I hope my outfit brings across as well. Hard and soft, light and dark, NIN is one black angel.

The back of that dress is to die for and I LOVE those shoes. Very hot!

Never was a fan of NIN until I met my husband. He turned me on to a lot of harder music that I never would have experienced without him.

Wow I really love everything about this outfit. The top is so perfect and on trend...yet still classic. I love the exposed zipper and the lace details.

That trench is also so girly and elegant. You really look amazing in all black...so perfect for a blondie because your hair really pops.

Nobody ever says anything about the photographer. Who is it, Mike? Someone's got a good eye for what makes a good picture (and it surely doesn't hurt having a very photogenic model).

Michael - aww thanks, truth be told I'm getting less photogenic over the years - ah aging! My friend Josh actually took these photos which is why they turned out so well. He had an eye for it and patience, which my boyfriend (who normally has to take them) does not :P

Luphia - Sure, swap up!!

That coat is stunning! Absolutely loely, with a really great but wearable shape!

Saw NIN in amsterdam 2 years ago - sat in the evening air, listened to it pumping out - brilliant. Plus, Hurt (by either them or JC) is a true classic!

It has been said... but, honestly, WOW! You look simply stunning!!!!!! Actually stunning is an understatement. I can't think of a better word.
NIN and the Johnny Cash cover of Hurt always, always, always sends shivers down my spine. Cash's film clip also brings tears to my eyes. It is one of the saddest songs I can think of.
