Only in my dreams...

Things with the Rockstar can't get any better. For the 6 months that I have known him, and the 5 that we have been together, I am absolutely floored at how well things are going. Sure, there is the occasional problem but when I tell people what our "problem" is, they reply with "If that's your only "problem," consider yourself lucky."

In fact, just last night I was talking about something in particular with a good friend (and his ex) and she couldn't help but blurt out, "Yeah boo hoo, that must put a damper on your totally perfect relationship."

Our relationship is not perfect (and that's 80% due to me being nuts) but my boyfriend IS perfect. At least, he is perfect for me and that's probably why we fall more and more in love with each other each day. He is the first boyfriend that I have trusted 100% with all my heart. This is the easiest relationship ever, for both of us, and we both tell each other every day how lucky we are to have found each other.

Awwwww.

Right, so here is something interesting and I can't help but wonder if this has happened to anyone else...

I always have very vivid dreams and I remember them quite well. Well, in my dreams my boyfriend is ALWAYS a COMPLETE ASSHOLE!

Without fail, everytime the Rockstar is in my dream he is the world's biggest jerk. He is constantly dumping me, breaking my heart, proposing to mutual friend's of ours, being an A-hole to me, saying mean things, cheating, being disrespectful and more.

And everytime I wake up I feel devestated. The pain (and anger) I feel in my dreams is SO real that I often awake with a clenched jaw and fists. And then it takes me quite awhile for these feelings to wear off. I'll start my morning being completely pissed off at him because of something he did in my dream. I mean, I know it's not at all his fault that dream boyfriend is a complete bastard but I still can't help but feel what I felt in those dreams.

Luckily my boyfriend knows about dream boyfriend and is extra extra sweet on those days when I have trouble telling reality from dreamland. And it is such a wonderful feeling when I finally realize that my Rockstar is the complete opposite from dream version. I once again, thank my lucky stars for him.

But I have to know....why is dream boyfriend such an ass? Because things are going so well, so smoothly, am I subconciously afraid that he is going to dump me out of nowhere like my ex did or turn into an asshole while he's fooled me with his perfect boyfriend exterior? I have no idea...

Funnily enough, my best friend Kelly is ALWAYS a bitch in my dreams too. But apparently she says that whenever ANYONE dreams about her, they always say she's always a bitch. Dream bitch Kelly, we call her.

I'm just waiting for the night when Dream bitch Kelly and Dream Jerk Boyfriend both gang up on me. Hopefully though I'll have my trusty lightsaber and pet Velociraptor, so I'll be able to defend myself, with the help of Jimmy Smits and Cameron Diaz....

I guess you're just subconsciously afraid that things are TOO perfect. I've had those dreams lately where I really abase myself for people I love, and their friends are warning me and telling me not do so. They are extra weird too, because I'm nothing like that in real life!

Also, I've had that superdisgusting dream about me giving head to a scary guy I know who's not only not attractive at all, but has also been to jail lately. Ugh. I had a bad day after that.

Eek! I have those dreams too! With him running off with other women and being a total a-hole! It's horrible :(

ok, it happens to me all. the. time. my dream boyfriend likes to cheat on me in our own bed, i walk in, he turns around, looks at me and says 'what? what's your problem?' and keeps on going while i'm watching. i always wake up feeling totally hurt and pissed off at him. i'm actually getting angry right now!! Eek! I think that deep down i'm worried that because i'm so trusting, and we have such a trusting relationship, that one day i might get hurt and it'll come right out of the blue. but i don't think it'll happen, just my dream-self being crazy :)

Yes.
At least you're not dreaming about your ex because let me tell you that will REALLY piss you off/gross you out. I hate when that happens to me.

Uummm...are you dreaming about your ex BF but the rockstar keeps coming up?
YOU guys (RS) seem REALLY happy so don't worry about it :)

That happens to me all the time! And I wake up really mad because the Muffin is such a jerk and if he happens to be sleeping like on his side away from me I get in a huff because obviously he doesn't care about me! And then when he wakes up and comes to hug me he has no idea whats wrong...

I think it's because there's a part of you that is still expecting to be hurt (not because of him per se but because it's happened so often before). Nothing is a coincidence plants don't just grow without seeds. It's your subconscious tapping you on the shoulder saying.."hang on, hang on where's all the drama?"

I think you have it sussed. It's your subconscious looking for something to go wrong.

I keep dreaming my boy is cheating on me when I KNOW he would never even contemplate it.
Weird.

What is funny is last night for the first time I had a dream where my boyfriend found out every little bad thing I did in my life and judged me for them. And we got in huge fights over it.

This dream followed a nice discussion we had on our future together and how nice it is that we found each other.

I totally understand how you feel.

Ahh, i have those too! I am sooo shity with possum the next day. Its funny really, as much as i try to explain it to him, he just doesnt get it.

It takes me a while to get over it, it's just so hard to seperate the face & the actions..

In my dreams I am always married to someone else and I never know what to make of that since I am blissfully happy with my own husband.

Dreams are odd and I try not to read too much in to them or they will really upset me.

Wow...

Tsawwassen, I am not going to lie... That post went entirely the opposite direction that I thought it would.

I hope that the Rockstar comes around...

i, too, have very vivid dreams. however, i never take them seriously anymore since the night i dreamed that a good friend of mine died. i woke up sobbing like crazy. however, he's still very much alive now at 77 years old.
