Best Post Ever!

Three reasons:

Drunk College Girls.

I kid, I kid. It's not Girls Gone Wild...it's Journalism Girls Gone Wild!

I know that there a few people out there who might kill me for doing this but, come on! Don't be a spoilsport!

Today I was doing some very adult things...running to the market, applying for jobs, contemplating my future. And then I remembered, fondly, how easy life was in college. Ah, those were the days when I would work on essays the night before, drink during class, get trashed every weekend, spend book money on US Weekly. Yes, we had it all...

The following is a photo collection of my last year of university. We were the hard-working (snicker) students of the Bachelor of Journalism program and this is our story:

And don't worry. Apart from the occasional dildo, these photos are all perfectly presentable and safe for family (or work) viewing.

And I'm gonna go unplug my phone in case some journalism grads decide to send me death threats.

Nah. The truth is I miss these girls and our hard partying ways. Living in the real world, and dealing with such things as Enty-Level Jobs and Mortagages get in the way of letting loose every weekend. While I understand that we all grow up, a part of me will always miss those carefree days when we never knew we had it so good (all you people who are still in University and complaining about it, enjoy it while you can...I know you've heard this a lot already - I sure did - but once you leave school and you start "real life" - whatever that is - you'll realize how easy peasy school actually was).

Would I want to live it all over again? Probably not...my poor liver would never forgive me...and I couldn't sit through another class of Research Methods (not that I ever did). But would I love to spend a few nights with the J-Girl Posse? Hells yes! When you graduate you lose touch with people as everyone becomes scattered all over the place. At least with blogs and the net you can keep in touch. So if any of you girls are lurking out there, give me a shout! Even if it is to reem me out for posting a drunken photo of you (hell, I'm drunk in all of them).

hehe, it's so true. I miss all the irresponsibility of being young and in college and not having to think about 'the future' in any real concrete sense. Growing up sucks :P

As if I needed another reason to wish that I had gone to journalism school!

Good Times indeed - I wouldn't wish to go back school, although freelance was always good for goofing off (like we needed an excuse), but I do miss the j-students!

-thanks for the space Karina! Hope you like it

Ahhh.... the good old days. I loved college and all the days until I found a 'real' job. Actually, come to think of it, I still stay out till 5am on occasion, knowing I have to be at work at 9am. Those are getting fewer and farther between though. I guess I'm finally growing up.

KK - Yeah I think it looks cool. I also hoped the words Drunk College Girls would bring more hits to the site and thus see your ad haha.

Ah freelance...when the teacher discovered my preference for down-there hair removal...

Aww Karina I miss you sooooooo much! I hope to come visit soon. I'd go back and re-visit many nights we had! They were so much fun! Ahh and Vegas...can we go back?
Thanks for the memories...I love it...
Here's to the J-school crew!
Love,
Karisa

wow wow Karina! I just couldn't have the nerve to post photos like that...

Your pics remind me of a few girls who are still partying.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. WE should get together some weekend...

I still haven't grown up and I turn 31 today!

Do I have your email from Haloscan? If not, put it in there and I'll email you back..

With all do respect, it's not so easy when you have to pay for everything, you see I work 3 jobs so that I can pay for school, pay my rent and still be able to eat. I don't think getting a degree makes you a grown up, there are some kids out there at 18 years who have to take on responsibilities that some 30 year olds may never have to.

Anonymous - With all due respect, no, getting a degree doesn't make you a grown-up. After all, what does? Who is to say that struggling with money, fighting for everything makes you a "grown up" while someone who seemingly has gone through less trouble in their life, isn't one? You can never compare two people's lives because you'll never know what it's like to be someone else. That wasn't the point of the post, nor what everyone else was commenting on.

Whether you work through school to pay for it (like a lot of people do), get a student loan to pay for it or are fortunate enough to have your parents pay for it, school is school. It seems hard when you are in the middle of it but once you graduate and leave the safety and security that school can provide, there is no comparison.

The "real" world is hard and it has nothing to do with having to get a job and work, cuz as I'm sure you know, the majority of people DO work while at school.

No, the reason why it's hard and it seems like a big, scary world out there is that you actually have to begin a career, and "make" something of yourself.

As any graduate can tell you, they might have felt pressure during school to get good grades or whatever, but it's nothing like the pressure of living up to the person you are expected to become.

It's a very big weight on your shoulders and unfortunately one that doesn't go away any time soon.
