Vintage Dress Week lookbook #2 - Tropical Dress

Presenting dress #2 - I love this dress and its whimsical collar. But I'm starting to think a belt is a pre-requisite for all vintage dresses.

Dress: Vintage; Shoes: Marni; Belt: Vintage; Bag: Vintage; Cuff: Forever 21; Sunglasses: Marc Jacobs

Those are Kimberly Stewart's MJ sunglasses that I got for a steal from one of my fav Ebay sellers. I love how nerdy they make me look lol, I feel like Clark Kent when I wear them :)

I love these shoes too, though they can be a pain to walk (and jump in). I bought them off of Shoes and Your Mom when I was in their good books. Not sure what happened, but now everytime I contact them to either buy something from the site or sell something of mine (I have a HUGE stack of designer clothes I need to sell), they ignore me. I've sent about 6 emails, from different accounts too to make sure that one wasn't getting spammed, as well as commenting on their blog and saying HELP!. Nothing - no replies.

It sucks because all I ask is that they just say "No we don't want your clothes" so I can take my clothes elsewhere. But they won't even reply at all. And I know they get the messages because they are still doing business. So yeah, I have been boycotted it seems and it hurts, I tells ya.

I've got Louboutins for sale, Gorgeous NWT DVF, Cynthia Vincent dresses, Da Nang cargo jackets, French Sole ballet flats new in box, Chloe sweaters with chains, Philip Lim...all stuff people would LOVE and all priced very well and yet - NO LOVE FOR ME....what a mystery.

oooh the collar on that dress is fabulous. looks like something that zooey deschanel's character would have worn in 500 days of summer...and that's a huge compliment :)

You should open your own store!!

The dress is gorgeous and yes, I think vintage dresses often look at their best with belts :-)

List what you've got here and see if anything sells. Then take your pile elsewhere ;)

Love those pastels in your vintage dress! And cudos to you, I could never jump in those shoes!

Your hair looks so cute braided like that, I love that pretty dress. ;) Yes, I think a belt is a must have too especially with these lovely dresses. :)

did the company go under? i can't imagine why anyone would say no to the stuff in your closet! i second the notion to open your own store, perhaps on etsy.

but don't sell those marni wedges they are amazing!

Love the dress neckline, sorry about your troubles with S&YM - odd that you would be boycotted. ??

Thanks guys. Yeah, it is odd. I don't understand it at all.

I mean, like I said I have bought some fab shoes from them before and have sold a pair too. Everything went smoothly and then they ceased to answer any emails about buying OR selling more stuff. I even commented on the blog saying "HELLO! Please email me because maybe my emails are not going through" and they still didn't email...then I tried from another email address (my work one) in case it was spammed and nothing. I started to feel like a stalker lol, so I just gave up.

It does really suck because I had some great items and I also have seen a lot of stuff I want to buy but I CAN'T!

I guess this is what happens when blogs become too big for their britches - they forget about the customers and readers that got them there in the first place. I've given them lots of publicity and links too :(

I'm hoping this blog post will bring this to their attention but sadly if I am purposely being ignored - which seems to be the case - I don't see that changing.

C'est la vie, I guess.

sell your stuff on here...at least post and price it.

Maybe I will Milhouse. Maybe I will...

Actually I was toying with the idea of doing it myself but I was trying to save some stuff for later down the line (I have bigger plans) but in the meantime, might free up some space in my closet!

You need to start your own ebay store- you would do really well!

I love that dress on you- and I agree with you about the belt. I wear belts with all my vintage finds too.

I love those sun glasses! They're awesome. :) Loved your past two dresses, they look great on you and that one from yesterday looks so comfy! :)

Ignoring a customer for whatever reason is just a bunk business practice. Makes no sense!

Those sunnies are absolutely divine and I have to agree with cupcakes ans cashmere about the Zooey Deschanel feel of the dress (also a compliment)

Marni wedges?! How jealous am I. I love the floppy collar of your vintage dress. I think it's completely darling and so is that wee dog in the first pic. So weird about your story! I wonder what happened.
